INFRA-EVENT
However IPV is right up your alley
INVITATION
#solar panel potential in infrastructure
THE WAY TO A BRIGHT FUTURE
IPV (IntegratedPhotoVoltaics) has long since ceased to be a thing of the future.
Since 1989, our people have been working on the technology to integrate solar cells into all kinds of aesthetic materials.
The technology is in place.
The knowledge is available. Although IPV is still very much in the innovation sphere, we are technically ready to work with you to address the climate crisis in a beautiful way.
And we would like to show you that at our infra event on October 20, 2023.

#zonnepaneelpotentieel
As a policy maker, study bureau or executor, you will be at the forefront of innovations in the wonderful world of ‘landscape elements’.
Your knowledge and creativity literally pave the way to the future.
And the future … can be very beautiful.
Energy issues are more topical than ever.
If Europe’s ambitions were not already decisive enough, in recent years the need for an energy revolution has become clearer than ever.
Fortunately, we are ready for the future.
Why put fields, seas and mountains full of ugly panels when we can integrate solar cells into existing surfaces?
Any facade is in the sun.
Elke car or truck rides in the sun.
Every sound wall… miles long … stands gleaming in the sun.
Awning intuitively turns every user automatically … to the sun.
Bike lanes, terraces, car-free squares….
Balustrades of apartment buildings.
Tens of thousands of square feet of #solar panel potential.
We can make a solar panel out of EVERYTHING.
And what that means for you as an infraspecialist, we are happy to explain.

SPEAKERS
Bas van de Kreeke
Ir.
Bas van de Kreeke is CEO of Soltech.
Bas is best known as CEO of the eponymous van de Kreeke construction company.
He breathes the construction sector like no other.
As director of Confederatie bouw and VKW Limburg, he constantly keeps his finger on the pulse.
Since May 2021, he and 5 partners have been putting their shoulders to SOLTECH. Soltech SA is a Belgian company with manufacturing facilities located in Tienen.
It was founded in 1989 as a spin-off from IMEC and was a pioneer in the field of solar panels or photovoltaics (PV).
They are experts in the technology of integrated photovoltaics.
Besides building integrated photovoltaics, they can also implement solar cells in products, vehicles and infrastructure.
Presentation
ESTHETIC SOLAR PANELS – AN ECONOMIC AND TECHNICALLY RESPONSIBLE CHANGE IN ENERGY RANSITION
Bas takes us into the wonderful world of IPV (Integrated Photovoltaics) and discusses successively:
- IPV’s contribution in a circular economy;
- the aesthetic possibilities;
- and some projects.
Stefan Dewallef
Stefan is head of R&D at SOLTECH
Stefan is an established name within SOLTECH.
For 28 years he has represented the R&D interests.
His knowledge of Integrated PhotoVoltaics is invaluable to our company.
Together with his team, he does not shy away from any solar issue.
Presentation
THE THEORY AND PRACTICE OF INTEGRATED PHOTOVOLTAICS
Stefan will look at the technical side of IPV and discuss the following topics:
- The construction of IPV;
- the opportunities and the pitfalls;
- infra solutions vetted;
- and expected returns and payback models.
Michael Daenen
Michaël is Professor of Engineering Technology at imec – Universiteit Hasselt / EnergyVille
Michaël Daenen received his Master of Science degree in applied physics from Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e, Eindhoven, Netherlands) in 2004.
In 2008, he received his Ph.D.
degree in material physics at Hasselt University (Hasselt, Belgium) with the topic of synthesis and characterization of nanocrystalline diamonds.
Since 2014, he has been Professor of Engineering at Hasselt University.
Michaël’s research is spread across the wafer PV and module team and the Energy System team at IMO-IMOMEC.
He focuses on the reliability of PV modules and PV systems and integrated PV such as BIPV, IIPV and Agri PV.
Michael is the author of three U.S. patents and has published more than 80 articles.
He is also a reviewer for high-quality international journals.
Presentation
INFRA IN IIPV – THE WAY TO A GREAT FUTURE
Michaël will elaborate on recent developments within the world of IPV and make the link to Agri PV where, as with infrastructure, water management is very important.
- Recent developments and the future
- Tile skipping, solar skipping?
